Measurable

Make your goal trackable. What indicators define you’ve succeeded? Are you looking to have an increase in click-through rate? Do paid ads count, or are you only measuring your organic reach? Or, perhaps your leads include only those who sign up for your newsletter or contact you for information.

Attainable

Is your goal attainable? Be realist. Be honest. Do your research. Ask a content marketing professional whether your goals can be met within the timeframe you’ve allowed and resources you have access to. Being ambitious is great, but the last thing you want is to set yourself up for failure.

Relevant

More importantly, are the goals you’ve outlined what your business need right now to evolve? Take a closer look at the outcome of each one: Will it will give your business the boost it needs? Make sure the outcome is worth all the time and effort.

Time-Bound

Every specific goal needs a timeframe. When do you want to reach your marketing objective? This goes back to attainability. Can you realistically achieve these goals in a month, three months, six months? Remember, it’s not a race. The more methodically you plan, the higher than chances you will attain your goal within your intended timeframe.
