about the client:
The Trace Resort at Oak Lake is a beautiful getaway spot with over 1,1000 feet of a semi-private spring-fed lake. This makes it the perfect spot to go boating, and fishing, in a uniquely quiet setting unlike Muskoka and other overcrowded areas.

Located less than 2 hours from Toronto, The Trace Resort offers 10 private cabins and 10 spacious, dual-occupancy chalets.

our role:
We wanted to focus our branding around The Trace Resort slogan, "lakeside wellness + leisure." This meant we wanted to embody the outdoors, adventure, the waterfront, relaxation, and tranquility.

Another thing to consider before we went into branding was the look of the resort itself. The resort was taken over by new management in the past 20 years and have since been working hard to rebrand and refurnish into a luxurious escape.

Since the cabin decor ranged from simple and rustic to fully-renovated and modern, it was important that we include all aspects.

The font chosen was very intentional. It's simple, clean and legible. The space between the lettering prevents the look of clutter and chaos. It triggers the mind to think of stillness and 'take a breath'.

We wanted the colours to represent nature while featuring a calming colour pallet.

Blue | represents the lake
White | represents calm and stillness
Brown | represents the appearance of a wooden cabin

products:

We designed simplistic, wooden key rings to unify the feel of the resort that's surrounded by nature. The business cards used the primary colours and were minimal in its approach.
